MEASURING SUCCESS
In 2015 Casey led a team to develop a fidelity-based tool with qualitative and quantitative metrics for coding clinical conversations to ensure MI is implemented as an Evidence Based Practice.
The Motivational Interviewing Competency Assessment (MICA) is used for both quality assurance in terms of establishing baselines for person-centered care as well as for a quality improvement tool used in coaching for achieving proficiency in MI to promote sustained behavior change.
With thousands of white papers documenting its validity, many organizations have started streamlining the KPIs they track and placing MICA metrics at the top of their list.
